This hugely successful, Arnold based, Heating Company has been running for over 35 years and are just starting to spread their services outside of the Nottingham area and have chosen Trade Generator to help them do so.

No CommentsAnother week gone by and we are still concentrating our efforts on Dining Chairs UK. We were utterly speechless when we came into the office last Monday to find Chesterfield armchairs ranked number 1 on Yahoo! for the keyword “Armchairs”. You can read more here.
There has been some movement on the Mango Furniture site. It’s now half way up page two for the primary keyword “mango furniture”. We really want to see this site hit the front page so this week our SEO team have been tweaking the site to achieve this.We have managed to get a number 1 ranking for “mango furniture UK” which is very promising indeed considering the site has only been live for a matter of weeks.
Another mover has been the Chesterfield Sofa site which has seen it move to page 2 for the main keyword “Chesterfield sofas“. The site has been live since the new year so to get such a ranking looks promising for the future.
Yahoo! has been very kind to us with this project. We have achieved a number of first page rankings, some number 1 rankings, for primary keywords such as “white leather chairs“, “designer bar stools” and “leather bar stools” plus another 20 other keywords.
This month we a projecting a total visitor rate of 1000+ for our mini-sites, which is great considering they have only been live since January. The cost of each mini-site is £50 per month. If you would like to rent a website please contact us.

No CommentsIt’s difficult to track down a definitive list of the most expensive domains because lots of these sales happen privately and don’t get recorded anywhere. But I managed to find a list here . This is the top ten:
- sex.com – $12 million
- porn.com – $9.5 million
- business.com – $7.5 million
- diamond.com – $7.5 million
- beer.com – $7 million
- casino.com – $5.5 million
- asseenontv.com – $5.1 million
- korea.com – $5 million
- seo.com – $5 million
- shop.com – $3.5 million
No surprise with number 1! Interestingly when you go to sex.com it will redirect you to another website. Work that one out!
I know we like a pint but is beer.com really worth $7 million? Visiting the site displays a sponsored results page and no internal pages. Are you trying to tell me that beer.com make all their money back by listing sponsored results on a one page site? Makes no sense to me.

No CommentsImproving Index Inclusion
Trade Generator provides proven and effective online marketing to Nottingham and UK based clients as well as businesses and websites from around the world. As part of our SEO services, we offer various means to improve your index inclusion ensuring that all of your web pages appear in the major search engine result pages. Once the initial indexing process has taken place, any changes to your site including the addition and removal of pages also need to be updated with the search engines. By using Trade Generator to enhance your index inclusion, you can help guarantee the continued success of your website.
Index Inclusion
In order to index as many websites and pages as possible, Google and other major search engines deploy spiders or bots. These software based bots crawl the Internet travelling from one link to another, recording critical information about each of the pages. However, rather than waiting until your web pages have amassed natural, organic links there are other SEO strategies that can be employed to gain inclusion into the index. Sitemaps and manual submissions are two of the most effective SEO strategies in this regard and can be employed for any website.
Sitemaps
The sitemap represents a highly efficient form of on site navigation that can prove beneficial for human users and has become virtually essential for search engines. A sitemap is a structured list of web pages and documents that appear on a single page of your website. While they have been used by Flash and graphics based websites for some time they have more recently proven an effective search engine optimisation tool even for text based websites.
Google Sitemap
The Google sitemap program has largely negated the need to manually submit a site for potential inclusion. This process was much maligned by Webmasters and Internet marketers because it could take several months from the submission to index inclusion. As the sitemap includes links to every page of your site, and because it needs to be submitted in a compliant form, Google crawls and subsequently indexes pages significantly quicker when included in an on page sitemap.
Webmaster Tools
The Google sitemap submission tool is one part of the Google Webmaster Tools suite. As well as ensuring that a site is indexed fully and allowing for a simple but effective means of updating the index with any changes, the sitemap tools can be used to highlight any problems with your sitemap and your website. It’s equally as important to ensure that your web pages are formatted and structured properly as it is to ensure that you submit a compliant sitemap and the Webmaster tools can assist in identifying any potential problems.
Evaluating Your Site Index
The first stage in improving your index inclusion is to determine your site’s current performance. This means comparing the number of pages on your site to the number of pages that appear in the search engine index. Where anomalies arise, action will need to be taken in a bid to remedy the situation; the end result is usually improved traffic and increased website ROI thanks to greater index coverage.
Site Submission
While manual site submission may not be one of the most effective SEO strategies for Google, it can still prove effective with other search engines. Trade Generator offers extensive and expansive Internet marketing in Nottingham and the UK offering SEO services that cater to all of the search engines and we can assist in getting your site and all of your web pages indexed with all of the search engines that count.
Updating Search Engine Indexes
Once a sitemap or a site has been submitted, the tendency is to forget about the submission process. After all, the work has been done. However, as you add new pages and change or even delete old ones, the search engine results quickly become outdated and are not an up to date representation of your site. Resubmitting sitemaps and websites helps to inform the search engines of any changes so that you can start to benefit from continued on page optimisation efforts throughout the life of an SEO campaign.

2 CommentsRecently we launched www.chesterfieldarmchairs.co.uk for our client Dining Chairs UK. Today we were running a rank check on all the mini sites we have built for our client. To our suprise we noticed that Chesterfield Armchairs was number 3 in Yahoo! for the term “Armchairs”.
This is both exciting and puzzling at the same time. Why would Yahoo! rank a new website with only 5 pages so highly? We are still investigating to why this has happened; we know to rank in Google for the keyword Armchair would be very difficult indeed. This goes to show how different the two search engines are.
